Interpretation of the results – a first step towards river management
Besides assessing the ecological status the procedure aims at giving management directives.
Preposition is a stressor-specific assessment approach, reflecting the impact of different perturbations.
Due to its modular composition, the new German assessment system PERLODES gives results on different levels:
Level 1: Ecological quality class
Level 2: Cause of degradation, separated into the main stressors "organic pollution", "acidification" and "general degradation"
Level 3: Results of those metrics used for the multimetric index (specific data interpretation)
Level 4: Results of all metrics of the ASTERICS Software, which can be used for general data interpretation
