Practical test – application and test of the newly developed methods for river monitoring with benthic invertebrates
The suggestions for methods of sampling benthic invertebrates and for river assessment were tested all over Germany in 2004.
In cooperation with water managers from the Federal States 150 sampling sites representing all German river types have been selected.
The new methods were applied to these sites to answer the following questions:
Are the methods for sampling, sorting and identification suited for all river types?
Are adaptations of the assessment methods needed?
The results are given by the final report on the project “Application and test of the newly developed methods for river monitoring with benthic invertebrates” (in German, English summary).
